Sipoo is a modern (18 000 inhabitant), bilingual municipality close to the capital Helsinki. The river Sipoonjoki runs through the municipality from the wide forest areas in the north, via the flourishing fields towards the shores and islands in the south. The first inhabitants in Sipoo were Swedish settlers in the 13th and 14th centuries.

Old church - the church of St. Sigfrid, a grey-stone church dating from the 15th century.
