Bilingual Siuntio is a dynamic municipality located along the Helsinki-Turku railway line. Siuntio with its 6000 inhabitants has a rich rural tradition with manor houses and extensive fields.

Attractions
A traveller following the mediaeval King's Road will encounter a large number of places of interest, e.g.: Sjundby manor castle completed in the 1560s at a rapids of Siuntio River, is one of the finest stone buildings in Finland. The castle is in private possession but is also open to visitors. 09 256 4040.
The Finnish national writer Aleksis Kivi spent his most productive years with Mrs. Charlotta Lönnqvist, owner of Fanjunkars croft. Fanjunkars was situated in the Porkkala Lease Area, which was leased to the Soviet Union 1944-1956. The croft building, destroyed during the lease period, has been rebuilt and now the new Fanjunkars serves as a living cultural building. This completes the journey following Aleksis Kivi’s life cycle. Fanjunkars can be visited 10-14 on summer Sundays, at other times by appointment. Fanjunkars can also be hired for various occasions all year round. 050-412 4080.
The greystone Siuntio Church was consecrated in 1460 and dedicated to St. Peter, whose key is displayed in the heraldic arms of the municipality. The murals on the vaults and walls date from the 16th century. 09 819 0910.
The mediaeval Suitia Manor Castle completed by Erik Fleming in 1545, is located in the vicinity of Siuntio Church. In recent years, the castle has been managed by the University of Helsinki.
The Local Heritage Museum is situated in the municipality centre, at the foot of Krejansberget Hill. From the top of the hill, beside a Bronze Age graveyard, an imposing panorama opens over the Siuntio landscape. 09 256 1113.
The Gårdskulla Agricultural Museum is one of Finland’s largest and most comprehensive museums displaying the development of farming and household economy. The 4000 artefacts include 100 tractors, and a variety of farming machinery, utensils and household articles from the past hundred years.  09 256 1198, www.gardskulla.fi
