Uusikaupunki (founded in 1617) is an idyllic seashore town of 16000 inhabitants on the south-western coast. The popular Pakkahuone guest marina at the centre serves boaters from spring to late autumn. The Car Museum holds among other things a Saab collection and a Garage Museum. The Bonk Centre displays an astonishing collection of non-functioning machines together with stories connected with them. There is a special Bonk workshop for children. Myllymäki is a charming park area. An 18-hole golf course is located on the shore of the sea, not far from the town centre. The Kuntoputki sports facility provides year-round cross-country skiing, roller-skating and jogging. There is also a curling alley. Sea cruises 8 are provided to Isokari lighthouse island and to Katanpää garrison island.
