Ähtäri Zoo is the first wildlife park in Finland. There are over than 300 animals representing 65 species including the brown bear, the wolf, the lynx, the snow leopard, the visent and the mufflon. In summer domestic animals and a variety of activities ranging from the inflatable bounce Pomppulinna to games. Open every day all year round.

which was designed by the architects Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen, is a pleasant family and conference hotel beside the Zoo on the shore of lake Hankavesi. The Mesikämmen Spa and treatment section are connected to the hotel.

about a kilometre from the Zoo and the Hotel, and set in a beautiful lakeland landscape, is a nine-hole golf course suitable for both beginners and more experienced players.
