Kannonkoski is located in the northern Central Finland by the Blue Road (road no 77), neighbouring Saarijärvi and Viitasaari. The area is about 500 sq.km. out of which some 100 sq.km. consist of lakes and rivers. The municipality of Kannonkoski has c. 1750 inhabitants.
