The “Blue Road of Finland”, one of the oldest tourist routes in Finland, passes through the town.

On the premises of  Vanha Paukku culture centre are a number of interesting places to see, such as the Lapua cartridge factory museum, the Pyhälahti museum of photography, the art museum and the museum of the Lapua Movement. Places worth visiting also include the Cathedral with the largest organ in Finland, Jokilaakso Garden and the garden of traditional plants.

Cruises on the Lapua River, excellent fishing on the rapids, dance centres (summer and winter), a large variety of shopping venues and handicraft centres. Ränkimäki House Museum, Latosaari traffic park, Sateenkari recreational swimming centre. The top winter attraction is the Simpsiö slalom centre the biggest in Western Finland with several slopes.
