Merikarvia offers a lot of interesting things to see as well as a good selection of services for visitors. We recommend you either to take the scenic coastal road starting from Meri-Pori or alternatively to turn off from highway 8 at Tuorila, about 8 kms from Merikarvia centre.
Events:
Meripäivä festivity at Krookka harbour on the second Saturday of July. Summer theatre performances on a seashore stage at the beginning of July.
Boat cruises:
scheduled cruises are operated in July and August to the Oura maritime pilot station where the open sea opens in front of you. Additional information from the tourist office.
Merikievari:

Museums:
Fishing museum, The writer home of Matilda Roslin-Kalliola, Local museum, The dug out cabin Korsutupa erected by war veterans as well as the Pyttymuseo, a museum in a former brick warehouse presents the history of the old wooden kegs and barrels used in the presevation of fish.
Gallery:
Gallery Vanha Savu with a variety of events and changing exhibitions at Krookka Harbour, open June-August.

Fishing:
The popular fishing ground by the Merikarvianjoki river includes several rapids. Fishes you can catch here are natural and planted rainbow trout. Permits are sold at Lankosken Köffi, R-kiosk, Tuorilan SEO-Palvelu Oy and Kapun Lohi in Tuorila.
