SEINÄJOKI
In Seinäjoki there is always something going on. Big festivals such as the Provinssirock Festival, the Tango Festival and the Vauhtiajot Race & Rock Festival attract thousands of visitors. The Alvar Aalto Centre, a complex of six buildings serving for administration and culture was designed by the world-famous architect Alvar Aalto.
In Seinäjoki nature is always close at hand and there are trails for hiking and canoeing quite near the town centre. Not far from the town centre, Kalajärvi outdoor recreation area provides cabins,a caravan site and activities.
Ruuhikoski golf course is one of the best in Finland. For animal lovers there is the Wanha Markki retirement home for animals and the the 4H Adventure World. Boat cruises on Seinäjoki river are operated by Kaanaa Lines. Summer theatre performances for people of all age-groups are staged on Törnävä island.
