Two big lakes, Mallasvesi and Vanajavesi, meet at Valkeakoski. The town centre is marked by parks, canals and RIIPPUBridges. Present-day Valkeakoski is the result of the amalgamation of a sophisticated industrial community and historical Sääksmäki, an age-old rural community with great cultural historic significance.
