This 18-hole golf course is split by the border between Finland and Sweden. During one round, you will cross the border four times.

- Kukkolankoski, the largest rapids in the river Tornio, is well known for whitefish netting carried out with a long-handled net as well as for its delicious grilled whitefish. Rapids shooting in a rubber dinghy by appointment. In Kukkola on the Finnish side of the border there are old fishing huts and the Myllypirtti Café, +358 (0)16 472 044.
In Kukkolaforsen on the Swedish side of the border there is a fishing museum and a heritage village as well as guided whitefish netting, +46 922 310 00.
- Art Museum Aine, +358 (0)50 597 1189 Map
The Aine Foundation collection includes Finnish art from the beginning of the nineteenth century up to the present day. Apart from the basic collection, the museum stages changing exhibitions of domestic and international art. The attractive museum café provides a fine view over Kaupunginlahti Bay to the Swedish side of the border..

The church of Tornio, designed by Matti Härmä and named after the Swedish Queen Hedvig Eleonora, was completed in 1686. The church tower is the starting point of the geodetic arc measured by the Frenchman Struwe

“The clean building”, as it was called by its architect, is covered with copper plates and has given rise to both criticism and praise. The church was built to replace the old church which was destroyed by fire in 1963. The new church has audiophone guiding in four languages.
- Haparanda railway station, +46 922 125 57 Map
The railway building was completed in 1918. The railway station is Sweden’s only station with an eastern connection with two gauges. Today the building functions as a youth centre with a café. There is a permanent exhibition with historic photos.

dates from 1797. In the past the church served as the main church of a very wide area. The church, which is also a part of the Struwe geodetic line, was accepted on the Unesco World Heritage list in 2005. The municipal museum stands next to the church.

On the orders of Tsar Alexander I of Russia a Russian military church was erected in Tornio in 1825. The present church building dates from 1884 and is dedicated to the apostles Peter and Paul.

An observation tower in the town centre. There is a café up in the tower and an observation deck with binoculars. Open during the summer.

The museum’s sphere of activity extends from Simo to Muonio, so that the museum provides a good illustration of the history and culture of Western Lapland.

A botanical observation park, about three hectares in area with 1000 plant species. There is a children’s playing ground on the premises. Open in summer.

The farm buildings date from the 19th century. The main building houses a café, a shop, and a summer museum. There also domestic animals on the farm.
- Alanen Perävaara. A Struwe measurement point in Karunki in Sweden. A Unesco World Heritage site.

with an exhibition of old fishing equipment presenting the history of the village. Summer cáfe.
