Muhos is located on the river Oulunjoki in the midst of lush green countryside. Muhos represents urban development and modern amenities.

- The hydroelectric plant of Pyhäkoski is one of the biggest in Finland (with a fall of 32.4 m). The plant houses an electricity museum exhibiting the history of harnessing the river Oulunjoki. A beach.
