Nivala

The town of Nivala is situated in the southern part of Oulu Province in the middle section of the Kalajoki River valley.
With its 11 000 inhabitants, Nivala is a fast developing town with roots in rural tradition. The fine sports and outdoor exercise facilities as well as the cultural facilities based on Finnish cultural history make it possible for visitors to acquaint themselves with both the natural environment and the cultural heritage of the area. A special mention should be made of the Museum of President Kyösti Kallio and his son, sculptor Kalervo Kallio. There is also a good-standard golf course and a summer opera performance in the Ice Hall presenting world premieres.
